5 Reasons I Smile

The ultimate goal of this blog is to spread awareness and show how beautiful life can be. We have four amazing daughters. Our youngest was born with Down syndrome. If just one person stops here and leaves with a different, better perspective about Down syndrome, then it is worth it. Regardless, I have 5 Reasons to Smile!

Knott's Berry Farm - 40% Chance Sunshine

For the past 5 years we have taken the girls to Knott's Berry Farm. It began when the amusement park offered public safety officers a reduced admittance fee during the month of December, (very cool of them!). That prompted us to go and we have gone every year since. This year, we planned a day and boom - a road block. First, the broken leg. Then, the weather (it rained for 5 days straight here in CA) and last, work.

I have a hard time "giving up" when I really want to do something. I did not want to miss our annual trip. Despite 60% chance of rain (it has been raining constantly!) and finding out the reduced rate ended December 19th, Diondray and I decided to go. (I actually decided to go, but he is always willing to support me:)

We planned to get on the road at 9, however it was 11 when we pulled out of the drive way. I was starting to feel like maybe it wasn't such a good idea to insist we take a 2 1/2 hour drive, because I wanted to believe there was a 40% chance of sunshine.

Well, those aren't bad betting odds!

We went and it was so worth it!

PS- It did pour everywhere else!

As you can see by the parking lot, we closed down the park!
